Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport

The recently opened Omni Hotel in the South Boston Waterfront features a two-story VS1 facade that encloses an event function space. The 12.75” deep VS1 mullions are on the exterior of the facade, lending a strong visual texture to the building skin. Having no metal on the interior of this feature wall, paired with oversized glass panels, yields an incredibly transparent opening. Lateral buckling rods were incorporated to support the long spanning mullions and to maintain a slim profile aesthetic.
