CD Peacock

CD Peacock, Chicago’s oldest registered business (founded in 1837) and first jeweler, is soon opening a 20,000 sq. ft. flagship store in the suburbs of Chicago. The indoor-outdoor shopping space will house brands such Rolex, Cartier, Omega, and Mikimoto.

The curving façade was created to be the feature entrance for this upscale retail mall, and the design was achieved with the standard VS1 aluminum system and patch fittings. The upper portion of the façade had to extend past the roof structure creating a cantilever for the VS1 mullions, and the VS1 glass façade structure actually provides support for the solid back wall above the roof elevation. Finally, the serpentine wall above the entrances runs down in one of the convex bays to become part of the entrance vestibule.

Stay tuned for more updates!
